The Lewis Foundation began after founders Lorraine and Lee Lewis experienced first hand how isolating cancer treatment can be.
During time spent in hospital they saw how long days on the ward could leave patients feeling forgotten and alone. While doctors and nurses focus on the medical care patients need, the emotional and human side of support can sometimes be missing.
Lorraine and Lee believed something simple could make a difference. Small gifts and thoughtful items that bring comfort, distraction and a reminder that someone cares.
From that moment, The Lewis Foundation was born.
Cancer treatment is physically and emotionally demanding. Many patients spend long periods in hospital away from family, routine and the comforts of home.
